Roy's Family Cafe Loves Kids
At Roy's Family Cafe, children are never an afterthought. Our Kids Corner is a dedicated space where little ones can play, create, and explore — all within sight of parents who can relax at their tables with a proper cup of coffee. We've thought about every detail, from the height of the play furniture to the non-toxic paint on the walls.
The Kids Corner is open during all operating hours, 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, every day of the week. No booking required — just arrive with your little ones and let them discover it.
Food Made for Small Hands and Big Smiles
Our kids' menu uses fresh ingredients, smaller portions, and a lighter touch on salt and sugar. Each kids' meal comes with a small drink and a simple dessert — usually fruit or a yogurt cup.
Art, Color, and Creativity
The art and coloring table is one of the most popular features of our Kids Corner. We keep it stocked daily with coloring sheets (many featuring Roy's Family Cafe characters and Kyoto-inspired illustrations), crayons, washable markers, and simple craft supplies.
Children are welcome to take their finished artwork home. We also display some of the more spectacular creations on our Kids Corner wall — and families regularly come back specifically to see if their child's artwork is still up.
On the first Saturday of every month, we run a free Kids Art Morning from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM — a guided art session for children aged 4–10 while parents enjoy brunch nearby. Registration available at the counter.
Activities in the Kids Corner
Toy Corner
A selection of age-appropriate soft toys, wooden blocks, puzzles, and board books kept clean and organized. Suitable for children from approximately 18 months to age 8. All toys are regularly inspected for safety and cleaned daily.
Coloring Station
Our coloring table is always ready with fresh sheets, crayons, and markers. Sheets change weekly and include seasonal themes, animal illustrations, and Kyoto landmarks. Free for all visiting children.
Story Books
A small bookshelf in the corner holds a rotating selection of picture books in Japanese and English. Parents are encouraged to sit alongside their children and read — or let the little ones browse independently.

Practical Information for Families
High chairs and booster seats are available throughout the cafe — no booking required. We have 8 high chairs and 6 booster seats. They are sanitized between each use.
Baby food warming is available on request. Please bring your baby's food in a suitable container and speak to any member of staff. We'll warm it safely and check the temperature before returning it to you.
Nursing room is located at the back of the cafe, clearly signposted. It's private, comfortable, and equipped with a chair, a small table, and a changing station. No reservation required.
Changing facilities are available in the family restroom adjacent to the nursing room. We keep these stocked with paper towels and provide a changing mat on request.
Pram and stroller parking is available at the entrance of the cafe on the second floor. Please let staff know and we'll help you find a safe spot if you need guidance.
Allergy information for all menu items is available from any staff member. We take food allergies seriously and will do our best to accommodate all requirements. Please always inform us before ordering.
